Sedona Photography Symposium – Scholarship Program
The 2021 Sedona Photography Symposium provides an amazing opportunity for scholarship recipients to meet and study with some of the top professionals in nature and landscape photography!
“The Symposium changed the way I shoot for the better and made me more efficient in the field. The way I compose my images is now more deliberate and I am more mindful of the way each element in my frame interacts with one another thanks to my time in the field with the instructors.” –Aaron Martinez, 2019 Scholarship Recipient
“There was an incredible amount of information available from so many amazing photographers. It was wonderful to be a part of such an amazing community and gathering of like-minded and similarly passionate people.” –Kelly Briarton, 2019 Scholarship Recipient

I am a South African photographer and graphic designer who recently graduated from Brigham Young University majoring in just that. I am a nature enthusiast who loves anything to do with the outdoors from skiing in the winter to climbing in the summer, and of course, I take my camera along with me everywhere I go. My husband is an incredible landscape and outdoor product photographer who challenges me to be better as he somehow always manages to get a more compelling shot and I’m too competitive to let that last for much longer!
I am originally from India and I came to US about seven years ago for my graduate studies. I love reading books, exploring the outdoors, and photographing the natural world. Though the natural world is overwhelmed by human footprints, it is still possible to experience solitude and wildness and discover our roots. Through my images, I strive to go beyond the documentation of these experiences and express my understanding of this connection that we all share with Nature.
I am a photographer based in Rochester, NY with roots in India. Landscape photography has been my prime area of interest for several years. I enjoy nature and outdoor activities, and landscape photography always goes well with those activities. I have believed that spending time in nature is the only way to truly find the inner self. “Between every two pines is a doorway to a new world”, one of my favorite quotes by John Muir has always given me inspiration to go back to the same locations to find new compositions and new photo opportunities.
As a dual citizen Belgian/USA living in New Mexico since 2014, I discovered a whole new photography world. Photography is my life breath, it’s what I get up for in the morning and what I dream about at night. Shooting for stock gives me the freedom of exploring what I want, when and where I want it. People are my main interest, but I am game for anything else. Travel, cityscapes, nature, astrophotography. My goal over the coming months/year is to create a book about the Pueblos and the people living in them in New Mexico. Documentary style photography makes me feel alive. In 2019 I won the New Mexico Magazine Photography Contest which was one of the highlights of my life.
